This site in North Devon has been a holiday complex for over 30 years. It was purchased by the Holiday Property Bond in 2017, who have 38 self-catering holiday complexes across Britain and Europe. The new owners decided to make a substantial investment in the site to upgrade the existing accommodation and leisure facilities to meet the expectations of their clients. We were appointed to design and manage the project from start to finish.

The existing cottages, (former farmhouse and barns), were totally refurbished using conservation techniques. Accompanying those works, we obtained planning consent for 3 new lodges at the north end of the complex along with a new reception building, refurbished leisure building, new swimming pool, tennis court and site wide landscaping.
The new elements were designed to compliment the existing range of former farm buildings by using traditional materials, in response to the sensitive location – an AONB and neighbouring National Trust land.
The project opened in May 2024 and the clients were delighted that the whole site was entirely booked out for the first two years, so is proving popular with visitors.
