Larkstone Terrace

Set in a conservation area, this house was previously split into flats and Peregrine Mears Architects were tasked with restoring the building to its former glory as a single residence.

Traditional period features were repaired, with a subtle, stripped back feel revealing the original detailing.  Alongside extensive repair works, the practice was able to improve the building’s energy efficiency and put right some the damage done by previous incumbents.

The imaginative response to the brief transformed a series of small dark basement rooms into a surprising and generous open plan entertaining space, complete with sliding / folding doors opening onto an outdoor dining terrace overlooking the harbour and Bristol Channel.
