Bowen Court, Braunton

15 dwellings in Braunton

We inherited this project after it had received planning permission. Our brief was to make it work! That meant carrying out technical design work necessary to obtain NHBC approval and meet the demands of Lifetime Homes and achieve Code for Sustainable Homes level 3.

The site is a high density development comprising 14 houses and one flat on a tight urban site.  We worked with the developer Greenacre Developments to add value.  Whilst the outside appearance was set by the pre-existing planning approval, we were able to improve the layouts and add extra design features.  To that end all but two houses utilise the roof space to create a third bedroom and most include three bathrooms to get the maximum useable space from the footprint.

In addition we have carried out the complex civil engineering design work for roads and drainage, including dealing with Section 104 (Highways) and Section 38 (South West Water) applications.  The development is due for completion in Summer 2014.
